Family Reunion

\
In June we went to Idaho for my family reunion.  It was great to see everyone.
Every year we go to the zoo and try to get a picture of all the kids on the tiger statue.  This year there were too many kids to fit and the adults had to jump in to keep kids from falling off.

This is what happens when the dads are in charge.  All the ladies went away for a few hours to make crafts and the dads were on kid patrol.  Adam thought it was hilarious that Chloe's diaper was hanging off and took about 25 pictures of her running around like this.

Rice Cereal

At five months we decided to feed our chubby monkey rice cereal.  Unlike his sister, he took to it immediately.  He eats vast quantities of cereal every day.  And yes, he is sitting in a purple Bumbo with a purple bib.  This is what happens when your older sibling is a girl.  Momma is not going to go buy a bunch of new things just because of girly colors.  Sorry kiddo.  At least I don't dress him in his sister's old clothes.

Baby Animals Festival

We took the kids to the Baby Animals Festival in May.  Chloe loved being around all the people.

She wasn't as interested in the animals.  Adam is trying to help her look at them but she just wanted to run around with the children.

They had a bounce house and Chloe loved it!  We couldn't get her out.  This was quite the accomplishment considering how she is usually afraid of things like wagon rides, swings, and slides.

Adam's parents came with us, and watched Grant while we took Chloe to the different booths.  Grant apparently inspired them to take a nap.

Big Boy

Our little Grant is not so little anymore.  At every appointment he keeps creeping up the growth chart...25%, 50%, 75%, 95%, 98%, and off the charts.  These pictures are from when he was 4 months old.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our little town has an awesome Easter egg hunt.  There were so many kids the hunt was over is less than two minutes!  Chloe did get a few eggs and she was thrilled.

Chloe is very expressive, even though she isn't talking.  This is her "Wow, I have a new toy" face.
We think this is her "Don't touch my Easter eggs" face.

It's a good thing they are cute...

So these pictures are from a while ago... when Grant was only a month old.  Chloe felt her job was to poke and bother him... she still thinks that is her job.  Then he cries and Chloe gets time out, then Chloe cries a bit too.  It's a good thing kids are cute, because there is lots of crying.

Grant Thomas Creer

The doctor offered to induce me on 12/12/12.  We were excited that Grant would have a cool birthday and I was excited to be done.  Being pregnant is not fun.  Several women were induced that day and we had the last time slot.  Then the lovely ordeal began.  When I went to the hospital, I was already dilated to a 2.  They kept increasing the Pitocin and broke my water but at 7:00 at night, I was still at a 2.  I was freaking out at this point at the possibility of a c-section.  Grant's heart rate was decreasing, so they had me on oxygen for a while.  Finally, at 10:15 at night, I was at a 10 and ready to push.  Chloe was easy and I only had to push 6 or 7 times, so I thought that Grant would be easy as well.  I was pushing until 11:09 and it was hard work!  That little boy was stubborn and almost missed his cool birthdate.  Now Grant and I are both doing well.  Our only concern is that Grant is a little small.  Chloe was a big baby and very alert but Grant is small and just wants to sleep all the time.  He had a single artery umbilical cord so he is a long skinny baby.  We will just have to keep a close eye on his growth and see if anything else is affected.

Waiting to be induced at the hospital.

Chloe loves to look at him but needs to learn to be gentle!

 A rare awake moment.

Grant loves to be held all the time and Adam loves to be the one holding him.
